Dead-simple amps like the venerable 1959 Superlead ‘Plexi’ notwithstanding, Marshall has been known to explore a ‘more than meets the eye’ philosophy with its amps from time to time. The popular DSL50/DSL100 offers four channels under the guise of two, thanks Lead 1/Lead 2 and Clean/Crunch buttons. The JVM series takes this idea light years further with a multi-channel, multi-mode. Marshall JMD:1 crap. Discussion in 'Marshall Amps' started by pimschreurs, May 1, 2010. They still don't know what the problem was from the first amp, but the second one had probably bad tube contacts. Or something, while playing, little fist hits on top of the amp, caused 'cracks' in the sound. There is certainly nothing wrong with.
Hey guys, I ordered a JMD501 1x12 combo. I am starting to dig the 1x12 combo idea alot. The majority of my playing doesn't require 100 watt levels. I love to play and there is nothing like grabbing one little amp and your guitar and closing the door behind you. Do any of you guys here own one and what are your thoughts on it. I don't mind digital preamps if they sound ok. I recently bought and sold the axe-fx ultra. It was a pretty convincing device but pretty darn expensive. I recently bought a line 6 hd-500. I will be keeping it, lots of acceptable tones for the 360ish price I paid. I posted a video page of the JMD-1 from marshallamps site. Even with my cheap laptop speakers some of the tones in these quick video clips sound great. Check them out.. http://www.marshallamps.jp/html_site/jm ... ta_en.html6

Effortless Tracking
Verified PurchaseThis preamp has become my go recording platform for lead lines. With rhythm parts, there's still a magic to a cabinet and well-positioned microphone. But for lead lines, it has been a godsend. Just plug in, dial in your settings or pick a patch and hit record. The stereo returns on the effects l… - Steven T.
My JMP-1 has the Vodoo Platinum mod also
HUGE improvement I mean HUGE. Cleans more tube sounding and thicker and distortion has more texture. Run mine into a Marshall EL34 100/100 used in my UFO Tribute band for years. Effects loop sucks better to put fx between preamp and poweramp. Trace from Voodoo told me that and he was right. Great preamp. - Evan L.
Marshall JMP-1 preamp TONE GOLD!
Verified PurchaseThis preamp has every classic Marshall tone or sound you remember from the golden days of rock, 70’s, 80’s, even 90’s. Using in conjunction with a JFX-1 effects unit with a RJM Mastermind midi Foot Conttoller for 100’s of settings presets and combinations. I still don’t feel like I’ve even scratched… - Paul T.I used a jmp1 for 20 years. I found what is is the effect loop will can affect sound in a good way. I used a Roland 550 in efforts loopSounds great with drives and distortion too. Go to. YouTube/PaulTozz to hear how I used it. All though I like digital model s ,I feel they fall short in tone to my ears. All a matter of tasteRock on!!!!
- Willy C.Verified PurchaseI mainly bought this for a stereo guitar rig. I'm currently running the L/R outs into the returns of 2 Laney IRT. The balance is off. This is my fault as it is designed to run into a 2 channel power amp w/ 2 different volumes. However, it is close enough to not notice and this thing rocks!!! Not as …
